The White Elizabethan gown.

Aside from the fact that the scan sucks, you can see how this one came out. I drew a pattern from various paintings, and fussed with it until it fit.

The bodice and overskirt are of shiny white brocade curtains from goodwill (the fabric for the bodice was fused to interfacing before cutting; this sort of fabric will fray to a small pile of useless shiny fluff if you look at it funny, much less cut it.) The underskirt is of white-siver hammered satin (I know, not period, but pretty!).

The partlet is of some icky fabric (way warmer than it should be), with very fine lace edging down the front. The neck ties with a piece of ribbon.

The ruff is made of organza, pleated onto satin ribbon. It also ties with a piece of smaller ribbon. The nice thing about the organza is that if it gets smushed in storage, a quick dunk in the sink and draping it over the shower curtain will revive it.

A pic of me wearing this gown, sans partlet and ruff is located here.
