Love Never Dies |
Apoptygma Berzerk |
In my dream, Vigo Something-or-other (he's an actor, but my dream insisted that he was a soccer player) was trying to seduce me. I was in the middle of packing the contents of the apartment in Virginia (though I had all of my furniture from Buffalo), and he kept walking into the place in various disguises, trying to get me to kiss him. |

Kill Mice Elf |
The Drovers |
The phrase 'Fruminous Bandersnatch' is bouncing around in my head for some reason. I'm confused. |

Butterfly |
Dance Dance Revolution Soundtrack (it's a video game) |
I was in high school, and it was the school I went to (with a few changes, of course, like a Civil War Living History section, and a few different buildings), but I wasn't a student. I was working there, and miserable. Instead of getting paid, we were supposed to graduate. I got really fed up about half an hour before that was to happen, so I split. I wound up meeting my friend JC at the train station, and he had a little fish tank he wanted me to look after. There wasn't enough room for all of the fish, so they kept poking their heads out of the water and glaring at me balefully. |

True Faith |
New Order |
I'd been riding around in a huge mall with some friends who had a van that had been customized so the front of the car was actually the back. After crashing though a few windows, we all went back to the garage that the guy with the van lived in, and hung out for a while. I gave people their holiday presents. Then the dream shifted, and I was dreaming about a woman who swore that the lining fabric from wardrobe bags that had been hanging in the closet for years would make perfect corset lining because it was so strong, waterproof, and old. I was trying to think of a tactful way to tell her she was totally wrong. |

Devil's Dance Floor |
Flogging Molly |
It was a strange dream where goddesses floated in indoor swimming pools surrounded by roses, dependent on the whims of an oversized disembodied face (that looked like a wrinkly mr. Potatohead). I figured out the mechanics of ballbearings, and woke up wanting to scream "Swing a little more on the Devil's dance floor!" at the top of my lungs. |

Euphoria (Firefly) |
Delerium |
I liked this dream. People kept giving me expensive costuming books because they'd gotten extra copies. I had a boytoy who would let me dress him up and take him out. (Don't you just love it when the people you know and love are slightly transformed in your dreams, so they don't look or act *quite* the same, but you KNOW it's that person?) And I was on 'call them up in the middle of the night to chat' sort of friendly terms with a handful of people from the costuming lists. And *Janet Arnold* would call me to ask for advice on making things. It was most surreal, but WONDERFUL! |

Temptaion |
Kissandra Gaia'Rois |
It was a bizarre dream, and I don't recall all of the permutations of it, but it included the people I spent the weekend with, and wandering around in the MUD for real |
|
9/29/00 |
Transylvanian Concubine |
Rasputina |
I was having one of those empowering Goddess dreams. |
|
9/28/00 |
Pixie |
Ani DiFranco |
I was dreaming about work. Predictably, the line that got stuck is "Nobody likes their job, nobody got enough sleep." That sums up my life in a lyric. |
|
8/28/00 |
Gravel |
Ani DiFranco |
I had a plaugey dream about not accomplishing anything. I'm guessing that the song and dream are, as usual, not related to each other. |
|
08/16/00 |
Some whiny song that got overplayed on the radio
"And I'll (blah-ah) over and over, (blah blah) the best day of your life" |
Some whiny guy singing it |
I dreamed I was roleplaying one of my ST's characters, only her name was different, and her father was still alive, and he was Spanish. He had been trying to drive a tenant out of some land he owned, and did things like drive on the lawn when it was raining to ruin it. The character I was playing was in love with the son of the tenant (he father didn't know), and was trying to get her day to stop harassing the guy. |

Das Uber Tuber, or, the Secret of Mr. P. |
Ookla the Mok |
I dreamed I was painting an evil picture; it was of a water creature, beautiful painting, and until I finished it, everything in my studio would be evil and contaminated. I was totally creeped out by it, and tried to store it behind an altar, so it could become pure and good, but it acted like two magnets that have the same polarity and would slide out, because it couldn't stay where I'd put it. |
|
07/27/00 |
Anarchy |
KMFDM |
I had a dream that incoporated shopping, balloons, little kids, bikes, rare books, big Barkley masks in gray and pink, and lots of sunny, happy fun. |
|

3:45 something i can never have
5:00 Super Secret Space Detective |
Nine Inch Nails
Ookla the Mok |
The first dream was some convoluted thing about the Slug borrowing my socks and trying to wear my boots. The second one, I don't remember. |
|
07/06/00 |
Dust to Dust |
Skold |
I was dreaming about alternate seating diagrams for airplanes. Not surprising when you consider how cramped and miserable I was on three of the four flights I was on last weekend. And that damn dog from the Taco Bell commercials showed up (he was sitting on top of an air traffic control tower, dwarfing it). About three minutes after waking, the sing in my head switched from Skold to Herb Girls Of Birkenau, by Rasputina. The two songs keep swapping back and forth. |
|
06/21/00 |
Ghost of a Texas Ladies' Man |
Concrete Blonde |
Let's just say that it was an.. interesting.. dream, and I really didn't want to wake up. I rarely have super-erotic dreams, but for some reason, I did last night. (I'm not complaining.) This song and the dream are completely unrelated, by the way. I'd love to know how/why my brain picks the songs it picks. |
|

Ex-Lover's Lover |
Voltaire |
I was having a totally romantic and sweet dream, just sort of waiting for the alarm to go off. There seems to be a definite correlation between happy dreams and unhappy songs. |
|
5/15/00 |
Das Uber Tuber, or, the Secret of Mr. P. |
Ookla the Mok |
Is anyone noticing a pattern here? There's just something about OTM that makes them stick in my head faaaar too well. Of course, the fact that I listen to them almost daily doesn't really help, does it? |
|
5/09/00 |
Sway |
Dean Martin & Julie London, remix by The Rip-Off Artist |
I was dreaming about making regency boots from a Simplicity pattern,
and I was really steamed because I was missing a bit of the pattern, and
it was already discontinued. But everyone around me was dressed as if they
were in a Jane Austin movie, so it was hard to be too angry. |

5/4/00 |
Memories Remain |
Dropkick Murphys |
Another happy dream; a bit of role reversal, really comfy. |
|
4/26/00 |
John Cumber's Maiden |
Double Indemnity |
This is one of those songs that will lodge one or two bars into your brain, and won't let go! (What makes it worse is that Gabrielle has such a sweet voice, and I always want to sing along with the things in my head. Alas, I sound like something that needs to be put out of its misery when I attempt to sing.) |
|
4/19/00 |
People Ain't No Good |
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds |
Mirrors my opinion of humanity pretty well. I don't remember last night's dream. It was a warm dream, though. I woke up in a good mood. |
|
4/13/00 |
4 am: Kill the Beast
5 am: All The Way Down |
4 am:Beauty & the Beast
5 am: Voltaire |
Woke up twice. Was dreaming I was watching Beauty & the Beast, and I don't recall the second dream. Something nasty, though. |
|
4/6/00 |
Marakesh Night Market |
Loreena McKennett |
This one took some figuring out. I had the melody down; I just had to listen to everything that could have sounded like it to find it. Good thing I had my McKennett CD's with me at work. It was a very pastoral dream -- lots of walking around in fields and deserts and forests. (Yes, all three.) |
|
4/3/00 |
AGeD |
Ookla the Mok |
Again. Don't recall the dream, though. |
|
3/23/00 |
Making Christmas |
Nightmare Before Christmas |
Seeing as I'd fallen asleep watching Nightmare for the umpteen-billionth time, it makes sense that it would get stuck in my head. |
|
3/22/00 |
Scar Tissue |
Red Hot Chili Peppers (or whoever) |
I hate this song. It was severely overplayed, and it wasn't that good to start with. Another annoying morning. |
|
3/21/00 |
Like a Virgin |
Madonna |
Erf. Aside from the fact that I rarely listen to old Madonna (or any Madonna for that matter), this was never one of my favorite songs. As I recall, this was an annoying morning. |
|
11/16/99 |
Blackened |
Metallica |
The dream-music non-sequitur of the year; I'd been having a hearts & flowers type dream. How I woke up singing Blackened is beyond me. |
|
11/2/99 |
AGeD |
Ookla the Mok |
It was a weird dream in which I was a roadie for an avante-garde heavy metal band. I was hanging around after setting up the stage and I ran into people I knew in highshool. Which makes sense when you think about the song, I guess. |
|
10/27/99 |
Held Your Hand Like Yesterday |
The Drovers |
Not a clue. It was one of those plaguey dreams where you wake up every hour and the dream doesn't go away. I was at some sort of religious revival thing (you know, with the tents and benches?), and the guy shouting at the front (minister? preacher? who knows.. it's not my kind of thing) kept pointing at me as a bad example. I got really angry, and the people sitting near me held me down so I couldn't walk out. Not a happy thing. |
|
10/26/99 |
Arabian Nights |
Disney's Aladdin |
Ummm... I think this got stuck because I tend to watch Disney movies when I sew. And Aladdin is one of my favorites. *shrug* it's as good a theory as anything. |
|
10/16/99 |
The Chosen |
Voltaire |
Ummm... I was having a very pleasant dream, in which I was making
corsets for cute blonde girls with pink and blue streaks in their hair and
living in a Swiss Family Robinson kind of place. I haven't an idea why
this sick little song lodged itself in my brain. |
|
10/14/99 |
Another One Bites the Dust |
Queen |
Not a clue .... it was just stuck there. |
|
10/12/99 |
Superhero |
Ani DiFranco |
My dreams had Mike running around in a hero costume (spandex, undies on the outside, cape, the whole thing..) with someone else along for the ride. We'd just gotten back from Buffalo, which kind of explains the Ani thing, and I tend to get thematically-related (if not meaning-related) things all lumped together in my mind. |
