So they're marketing the hell out of the X-Men movie that's coming out. The first 10 pages of the Another Universe catalog are filled with it. This raises deep apprehension in me. I've never seen a movie that was aggressively marketing toys before the film came out that was worth watching.

I figure they go haywire with the toys beforehand, because after everyone sees it, they won't want the toys anymore. Which means that hollywood knows it stinks. Yet they're still releasing it. Pure silliness.

Of course, if *I* spent however many millions on a movie, and I knew it sucked, I'd do my best to squeeze every penny out before the general public knew how crappy it was, too.

But as a member of the general public expected to pay for this junk.. I am not amused. Besides, the costumes look silly in the adavnce photos. And, of course, it's all about the costumes for me. Plot? As long as it's a pretty gown, I won't notice. Drama? As long as it doesn't get in the way of my admiring clothing, no problem! Special effects? Ok, I notice those, too. But it always pisses me off when they're too shiny, and ruins my enjoyment of the whole thing.
